Breaking News: Owensboro Sets 6-Month Hotel Occupancy & Revenue Record

The numbers are in, and Owensboro just made history.

From January through June, Owensboro has officially set a record pace for hotel occupancy and revenue, making it the strongest first six months the city has ever seen.

This isn’t just a win—it’s momentum in motion.

In June alone, Owensboro was in the spotlight, hosting:

  • An official stop on The Great Race, a national event drawing visitors and vintage car enthusiasts
  • The Kentucky United Methodist Church Conference, for their annual gathering
  • PorchFest, which saw record-breaking attendance
  • The largest Democratic state convention held since 2012
  • The launch of the ACO State Cornhole Championships, bringing in competitive players from across the region

Behind the scenes, the Visit Owensboro team continued its sales blitz, working hard to book future events and secure even more wins for the city.

And it’s not just tourism that’s booming. New business announcements and active construction sites across Owensboro show that economic development is moving right alongside the tourism surge.

“This is incredible and shows our community is moving forward in the right direction,” said Mark Calitri, President of Visit Owensboro. “But now’s not the time to let off the gas. We’ve got to step on it and keep driving ahead.”

Owensboro’s not just having a good year—it’s setting the pace.
