Mark Calitri: Owensboro Tourism Reaches a Record $262.9 Million

Owensboro has a lot to celebrate.

The latest tourism numbers show visitors generated a record $262.9 million in economic impact for Daviess County. That means more business for our hotels, restaurants, attractions, retail shops, and local businesses while supporting more than 2,000 jobs and generating millions of dollars in state and local tax revenue.

These numbers don’t happen by accident. They happen because our community continues to invest in great places, great events, and, most importantly, great people. Every hotel employee, restaurant server, attraction, volunteer, event organizer, and business owner plays a role in creating an experience visitors remember.

To celebrate this milestone, I’ve put together a short video highlighting the momentum we’re seeing across Owensboro. I hope you’ll take a minute to watch it and help us share the story.

Tourism isn’t just about visitors. It’s about creating jobs, supporting local businesses, strengthening our quality of life, and building a stronger Owensboro for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who helps make Owensboro a destination people want to visit. Together, we’re proving that when our community works as one, great things happen.
