The story reinforces something we talk about often at Visit Owensboro.
Tourism is much bigger than hotel rooms.
Every convention booked at the Owensboro Convention Center.
Every sports tournament hosted in Owensboro and Daviess County.
Every group tour, festival, concert, and visitor experience.
Those visitors bring new dollars into our local economy that help support community assets including the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum, Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, RiverPark Center, Owensboro Symphony, sports facilities, attractions, restaurants, local businesses, and future community investments.
Tourism is one of the few industries that imports new money into a community.
Those dollars support jobs.
They support local businesses.
They support community organizations.
They support economic development.
Most importantly, they help create the quality of life that makes Owensboro a great place to live, work, raise a family, and build a business.
