One of the things I've learned over the years is that great things happen when people work together.
Recently, I had the opportunity to join Governor Andy Beshear in promoting the ROMP Festival, one of Kentucky's premier bluegrass music festivals. It was a great reminder that tourism isn't about one organization or one community. It's about partnerships that help tell Kentucky's story.
When the Governor's Office, the Kentucky Department of Tourism, Visit Owensboro, and our local partners are all pulling in the same direction, everybody benefits.
ROMP has become much more than a music festival. Every year it brings visitors from across the country and around the world to Owensboro. Those visitors stay in our hotels, eat in our restaurants, shop in our stores, and discover everything our community has to offer. That's exactly what tourism is supposed to do.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Governor Beshear and his team to help shine a spotlight on Owensboro and western Kentucky. Their willingness to support events like ROMP shows a real commitment to growing tourism throughout the Commonwealth.
Partnerships like this don't happen overnight. They happen because organizations build trust, work together, and stay focused on a common goal.
That's something I believe in.
At Visit Owensboro, our mission has always been simple: bring visitors to our community, create economic impact for local businesses, and give people a reason to come back again.
ROMP is one more example of what can happen when local and state leaders work together.
