especially throughout 2025, when monthly occupancy hit new highs and revenue
continued its upward trend.
In
July 2025, occupancy data showed Owensboro on pace for another strong year,
with the first six months averaging 63.08%, a sign of growing visitor demand
and successful event recruitment.
Statewide Tourism Awards
Visit
Owensboro earned multiple Gold and Silver Traverse Awards for Excellence in
Tourism from the Kentucky Travel Industry Association (KTIA) in 2025. These
awards — among Kentucky’s highest standards for destination marketing
achievement — recognized work on regional branding initiatives, print and
digital marketing, and destination management strategies. Media coverage

planners for the Heartland Travel Showcase, signaling growing national
